Miss Utila 2006 > Miss Honduras 2006? By Utila East Wind Miss Utila 2006, Mary Collins is training hard for the Miss Honduras competition 2006, which will be held in September. Mary, who is 23 years old, has been running everyday from Bando Beach to Blue bayou and back and now her fitness trainer, Patrick Flynn, has introduced the stone steps in town into the workout. Tough training! Mary grew up between the U.S. and Utila. She was schooled in the U.S. and has an associated degree in early childhood. “When I was growing up I never thought I would do anything like this,” Mary said. But she decided to embrace the adventure and just go for it because it would be a positive experience. Nelly Flynn, who modeled in the U.S. for many different companies and who was Miss Hawaiian Tropic, has been acting as the ‘style’ coach. Mary is looking for sponsors to help with the expenses and also needs help with Spanish. So everybody please speak Spanish to her so she can practice! The first phase of the Miss Honduras competition will be held in San Pedro Sula on the 18th and 19th of September. The final will be held on the 28th of September in La Quinta Hotel in La Ceiba. The winner of the Miss Honduras competition will participate in the Miss Universe competition.
